Last week we welcomed Rachel Blake MP, Member of Parliament for Cities of London and Westminster, to visit Electra House and meet some Fashion Retail Academy students.

As our local MP elected in July 2024, Rachel was keen to see how we are settling in at our new home on Moorgate, and met with our Chair of Governors, Kim Longman, to understand our future plans for the Fashion Retail Academy, the London College of Beauty Therapy and EFI Training.

Kim gave Rachel a tour of our beautiful new campus, stopping off in the Library and Café on the third floor and the fifth floor Fashion Design Wing.

Finally Rachel visited the Level 4 Fast Track Buying & Merchandising class where the students were debating the difference between what’s trending and what’s a trend.

Rachel spoke to some of the students about their journey so far, their reasons for choosing the FRA and what they were working on at the moment.

The students shared their experiences of changing careers and talked about how they are enjoying the fast pace of their course, which they complete in just 22 weeks. All the students were looking forward to going on their work placements soon before graduating.

We are grateful to Rachel Blake MP for taking the time to visit the Fashion Retail Academy and look forward to working together in future!
